Obey Jesus Christ? You might laugh at the very idea of it. Why would I (you may think) obey the gospel (the Bible) of Jesus Christ? You may think it is important to obey someone like Muhammed but not important to obey Jesus Christ.
Well you could not be more wrong. The Word of God the Bible declares that Jesus Christ is either to be obeyed----or the rebels that refuse to obey Him and His Word are to be destroyed with an eternal destruction:
Thessalonians 1: 7-9:
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
Do not be deceived by the things you have heard about Jesus Christ. The world presents Him as some sort of powerless good man that would not harm anyone. That may be how the world perceives Him, but the Bible is the true source of information concerning Him. And the Bible reveals Jesus Christ as the God that will judge you for how you have handled His holy Word (the Bible); and the Bible reveals on that day for those that have not become saved and have mishandled the gospel of Jesus Christ that they will be utterly destroyed by Him.
Jesus is called the Lamb of God. Lambs, we know, are meek animals. They do not frighten us as a lion or a bear. Yet fear is due this holy Lamb of God:
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
