Some people talk as if they deserve some kind of medal because they used to believe and follow the various end time doctrines for quite some time. "I used to listen to Mr. Camping and follow his teachings for 20 years." Yeah, great. But you're in a church now so what good did it do you?
Or, "I followed along with those teachings until Oct. of 2011." Yes, but then you turned back to former doctrines so what good did it do you?
If someone runs 3/4 of a race and then drops out do they get a medal?
1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
When it comes to the spiritual course set before us there are no medals awarded for participation. Only those that finish the course receive the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-15 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
